Manages consultants including architect firms, design firms, and general contractors. Created procedures for executing numerous projects, including electrical reconfigurations, mechanical modifications, and plumbing overhauls. Led the planning and studies for the site emergency power systems capacity. Led feasibility study and RFP package development of a 12K square foot infrastructure upgrade to the cold storage units.

Parsons Corporation

Oversaw capital infrastructure upgrades including a new co-generation facility, chiller installation, and cooling tower overhaul, finishing on time and within budget. Built on-site construction management team through hiring, coaching, and training. Managed staff of 6, including a junior project engineer, a document control manager, site inspectors, and a safety specialist. 

SENIOR MECHANICAL SYSTEMS ENGINEER

Bechtel Corporation 

Designed demineralized water system to produce and distribute 90 gpm of ASTM Type III water. The system included a carbon filter, water softener, RO unit, and electrode-ionizer. Evaluated and approved chilled water system including 1,400-ton centrifugal water chillers and 30K gallons of system volume.

PROJECT ENGINEER | PROJECT MANAGER

Harris Group Inc. - KapStone Kraft Paper Corporation 

Served as project manager and lead mechanical engineer for the addition of three non-condensable gas ignition sites with total project costs of $3M. Provided design of gas, steam, and feedwater systems for 125,000 lb/hr, 750 psig boilers. Managed and scheduled 2-week power boiler shutdown for upgrade projects including hog fuel system, heater tube and electrode overhaul, and flue gas outlet damper upgrade. 

MECHANICAL ENGINEER | PIPING ENGINEER

Jacobs - Suncor Energy 

Served as piping engineer responsible for inspection and verification of 4,500 isometrics for code compliance. Tracked progress of $450M construction phase. Collaborated with lead scheduler to monitor target milestones and construction deadlines.

Leading the enabling project moves of 42 departments to 4 campus locations (Aero Court, 7910 Frost, 7920 Frost, Main Campus), coordinating with end-users and vendors. Scheduling and sequencing all moves and make-ready activities in MS Project, coordinating with executive leaders and reporting status. Tracking all costs, commitments, & project documentation in Prolog. Supporting preconstruction of the new ICU/ESP tower build, central utility plant, and connector bridge. 

PROJECT MANAGER | DISTRICT CAPITAL ACCOUNTANT (HCAI) 

Palomar Health 

Construction project manager for OSHPD healthcare facilities on the Palomar Health campuses (Palomar Medical Center Escondido & Palomar Medical Center Poway). Construction projects include MOB 1, MOB 2, MOB 3, PMCP emergency department lobby remodel, and Enterprise warehouse tenant improvement. Sole accountant analyst for Palomar Medical Center West hospital construction and facility master plan (1.2 billion in final expenses). Construction accountant for as many as 60 ongoing construction projects, responsibilities include accounting, job tracking, budget initiation and set up, project cost tracking, and financial supervision of all district projects across three major hospital campuses. Oversaw and tracked all construction trades insurance via the Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) – PMC West project. Customization of Prolog construction software for multi campus reporting and detailed analysis for C-Suite review. Thorough knowledge of state mandated Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) prevailing wage, California Uniform Construction Cost Accounting Commission (CUCCAC), and Lawson accounting system. Maintained ongoing rapport with Finance, AP, and AR departments.

Created construction budget and cost code structure for Palomar Medical Center West. Tracked trade/consultant contracts and accurately assessed progress of construction. Maintained a $983M budget across multiple projects and campuses using construction management principles and software. Processed requests for information, change orders, submittals, and construction documents relating to hospital construction. Created and maintained cash forecasts and cash loaded schedule. Ran numerous small projects simultaneously with tight schedules.

Work directly with Facility Management department to prioritize, develop scope, solicit bids, and complete all requirements for service orders to be compliant with OMEE procedure and process. Issue LOA/POs through DES and DMLSS. Hire, train and manage a diverse multi-skilled staff.

J&J Worldwide Services – Naval Medical Center San Diego, Balboa

Project manager overseeing projects within the facility. Worked with Facility Managers to keep them updated on status of all open work throughout all sites. Developed prioritization of upcoming work schedules to align with staff needs and facility priority. Managed job walks and collection of bids for upcoming Service Orders. Managed vendors and in-house crews to ensure all WPA documents such as schedules, submittals, IC Plans, and outage requests complied with site requirements.

Worked directly with clients to secure contracting for hospital and medical office building projects throughout multiple healthcare facilities/military hospitals in San Diego County. Managing and permitting projects within multiple jurisdictions including City of SD, County and State Health Department, Caltrans, State Waterboard, San Diego Air Pollution Control Board, SDGE, HCAI, and the FAA. Over $650M in projects including a 9-story tower connector to existing hospital from basement to roof and expansion of the existing central utility plant (new boiler, chiller, cooling tower, generators, electrical gear, and associated piping), 2000 stall parking structure, and multiple make-ready projects in the operational hospital. 

ASSISTANT DESIGN ENGINEER | CIVIL UTILITIES

Dokken 

Assistant Design Engineer with responsibilities that included design of horizontal alignments, vertical profiles, design cross sections, construction details, specification writing, estimating, plan production, utility coordination/relocation and surveying. Also, was responsible for recruiting and retaining engineer interns while managing the company’s internship program. Led utility coordination for the 13-mile Mid-Coast Corridor Transit Project spanning from Old Town to Genesee Ave in La Jolla, CA. The proposed track alignments, bridges, and roadway widening affected numerous underground and above ground facilities. Primary tasks for this project included obtaining and drafting utility mapping, identification of utility conflicts, coordinating with utility companies, development of utility relocation strategies and overseeing of potholing operations. Also, worked on the surveying team to identify property boundaries and develop the land net base map as well as development and submission of plats and legals. Led efforts for the Athena Circle and Miramar Roadway Improvements Project in support of the new UCSD student housing development located in La Jolla, CA. Designed all dry utility systems on the project and supported the project through permitting and construction. Worked in the field as a chainman for the registered surveyor and assisted in developing/producing the topo and utility base files for the project. Assisted lead roadway designer in geometric pan and profile design.

Processed, tracked, and invoiced all furniture orders and facility furnishings for Real Estate Planning projects. Coordinated vendor order process management from inception to completion. Managed intake of issues, validated, and coordinated with developers and IT for resolution and testing.
